Twilight’s Leah Gibson joins Marvel’s Jessica Jones, might be playing Typhoid Mary

We’ve already heard that season two of Marvel’s Jessica Jones on Netflix will be “dark and heavy,” that it will include a scene where Jessica and Trish Walker get in trouble with some cops, and that Oscar nominee Janet McTeer will pop up as a very important mystery character, but none of that tells us very much about what to expect in the show’s new season. A rumor based on some casting news might provide a nice hint, though.

According to Variety, Leah Gibson from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes has joined the cast as someone named Ingrid, who “has an education as a nurse” but is also “street-wise.” That description—and perhaps the weirdness of saying “has an education as a nurse”—has led people to theorize that Ingrid is actually longtime Daredevil villain Typhoid Mary. In the comics, she’s a woman with dissociative identity disorder and a number of different superpowers, and she’s the kind of character who could give Krysten Ritter’s Jones a chance to throw down in a proper superhero battle.

Gibson will be a series regular on Jessica Jones, so whoever this Ingrid is, she’ll be relatively important.
