Tyler, The Creator announces new record that’s coming out next week

Following the lead of his Odd Future cohort Early Sweatshirt, Tyler, The Creator has announced that his new album, Cherry Bomb, will be released early next week. The announcement came via Tyler’s new Golf Media app, which gave few details about the album, aside from its name, release date, and a link to an iTunes pre-order. Pre-ordering Cherry Bomb allowed fans to download of two of the album’s 13 tracks, “Fucking Young/Perfect,” and “Deathcamp,” the former featuring contributions from Charlie Wilson, Toro Y Moi’s Chaz Budnick, and The Black Lips’ Cole Alexander.

Some clever sleuths were able to reveal that Cherry Bomb will feature other high-profile collaborations, including a track that will have both Kanye West and Lil Wayne featured. Along with the announcement came a video directed by Tyler under his pseudonym “Wolf Haley,” that features both “Fucking Young/Perfect” and “Deathcamp.” Despite the short notice, Tyler maintains grand ambitions, as he tweeted a link to the album’s pre-order and expressed his desire, in all caps, that he wants the record to go to number one.
