Tyra Banks smizes once more for America’s Next Top Model
Here’s what’s up in the world of television for Tuesday, January 9. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
America’s Next Top Model (VH1, 8 p.m.): After passing the hosting duties to Rita Ora for cycle 23, Tyra Banks returns to head up the search for the country’s new runway superstar. It’s Banks’ first season on America’s Next Top Model’s recently minted cable home, and she’s brought a new twist with her: Eliminations are no longer reserved for the judges’ panel. So, not only are this year’s crop of aspiring models—which the show touts as its most diverse to date—not here to make friends, they’re not always guaranteed to survive to the end of an episode. Even when (or maybe especially) Tyra was rooting for them.
Regular coverage
Runaways (season finale) (Hulu)
This Is Us (NBC, 9 p.m.)
Wild card
The Fosters (Freeform, 8 p.m.): Freeform recently announced that The Fosters’ fifth and current season will be its last—but not before launching a spin-off focusing on Foster sisters Callie and Mariana.
