U2 to release (another) best-of with 2 new songs

U2 will be releasing a 16-track best-of album this year that will include two new songs. One of these, played before a recent Monday Night Football episode, will be "The Saints Are Coming," a let's-bring-out-the-worst-in-both-bands collaboration with Green Day. It's a cover of a song by Scotland's The Skids and, like the second, as-yet-unnamed-song, it's produced by Rick Rubin. There is currently no word yet as to what the album will be called, what U2 hits it will include or whether or not the second new song will be as poor as "The Saints Are Coming."

"Saints" will be available as a digital download via Rhapsody until October 30th, with proceeds benefiting Music Rising, a Hurricane Katrina charity. Just keep telling yourself, "It's for a good cause. It's for a good cause."
