Uber’s alleged culture of sexual harassment, confirmed shady business practices, and memos on interoffice boning have gotten the rideshare tech company so much bad press in recent months, it’s surprising that it didn’t happen earlier: The Associated Press reports that Uber co-founder and CEO Travis Kalanick has taken an unspecified leave of absence from the company, which will be run by an unspecified “leadership team” during Kalanick’s period of self-imposed exile. For those of you keeping score at home, that means that Uber currently does not have a CEO, COO, CBO, CFO, CMO, or SVP of Engineering, but it does have sick pool parties. It also has two active, parallel internal investigations into complaints of harassment from current and ex-employees being led by former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and law firm Perkins Coie LLP. Those complaints have already led to the dismissal of more than 20 employees, including members of senior management, per Bloomberg Technology.
