Ubisoft announces Far Cry 4, now with more homoerotic scalp touching
Ubisoft announced today that Far Cry 4 will be released November 18 in North America, coming to the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. In an official blog post, the studio’s communications manager noted that the open-world action game will take place in Kyrat, an “untamed region” under the control of a self-appointed king. The game’s cover presumably depicts that despot, spreading his legs and lovingly draping his hand over the scalp of his submissive subject. The king also has the pin to his subject’s grenade dangling from his finger, in case the implied violence of the sword, bandoliers, assault rifle, and rocket launcher were too subtle for potential buyers.
“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” executive producer Dan Hay said, successfully inserting the words “Far Cry 3” into the game industry’s standard sequel-hyping boilerplate. Hay also cited the game’s “unique setting,” a topic that the Ubisoft blog post is both excited and coy about, suggesting that the terrain of Kyrat is a focus of development on this sequel.
Ubisoft also announced a “limited edition” of the game that will include three missions with Hurk, a character from Far Cry 3’s downloadable “Monkey Business” side quests who appears to be very excited about his new penis.
