Up for one week only: A video for Death Cab For Cutie's quintessential emo ballad "Your Heart Is An Empty Room," animated by quintessential emo cartoonist Jeffrey Brown. I like Brown's work, even though it's been pretty much the same whiny, crudely drawn shtick for the last several years. At least it's honest whiny, crudely drawn shtick. This video's maybe too precious (okay, there's no "maybe" about it) but it's also charmingly un-cynical … unless you want to argue that this kind of overt emotional play is inherently cynical.
