Uma Thurman takes a “fixer” role on Bravo’s My So Called Wife
Variety is reporting that Uma Thurman has signed on for a recurring guest role on Bravo’s new scripted drama My So Called Wife. The Academy Award-nominated actress will play Lenny Cohen, a “lethal fixer” who can do anything from “eliminating an enemy” to “whipping up a world class omelette.” Presumably, Thurman’s character will be matching wits (and scrambling eggs) with the show’s quick-witted con-woman lead (played by The Last Ship’s Inbar Lavi), who’s in the process of moving in on a new mark when the series begins.
The part marks Thurman’s third stint on TV, after turns on Smash and The Slap for NBC. The new part was apparently custom-written for her by creator Adam Brooks, who said, “Uma and I have been friends for a very long time. I’m thrilled that after many tries we’ll finally get to work together.” Brooks’ past credits include writing work on films like Practical Magic and Wimbledon. More recently, he served as a writer and director for Amazon’s Mozart In The Jungle.
