As predicted by its ratings success and America’s continued love affair with domes, CBS’ Under The Dome is getting a second 13-episode run next summer, that season when a young man’s fancy lightly turns to domes. With the series increasingly branching out beyond Stephen King’s novel to find a dome of its own, King himself has been brought in to write next season’s first episode, in which the dome goes on vacation to Hawaii, disturbs an ancient tiki idol, then suffers a surfing accident. Or, maybe something else: CBS president Nina Tassler promises only, “We’re excited to tell more stories about the mystery of the dome and the secrets in Chester’s Mill,” such as the fact that the dome is really inside a bowl. Did we just blow your fucking dome?
