Underground co-creator teams up with Doctor Strange's Scott Derrickson for horror series
A few months after his involvement in TNT’s Snowpiercer went off the rails (yes, we used that same joke in the original headline), Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson is ready to give his whole TV thing another shot. According to Deadline, he and Underground co-creator and showrunner Misha Green are developing an adaptation of Scott Thomas’ novel Kill Creek for Showtime. Derrickson will direct, which he was supposed to do for Snowpiercer, so it really does seem like he was just in a TV mood. Green, who is now the showrunner for HBO’s upcoming Lovecraft Country, will produce.
The Kill Creek book is about a group of famous horror writers who agree to spend Halloween night in a haunted house, only for them to realize that their presence has awakened an evil spirit that intends to murder them. Thomas is writing the adaptation himself, and no casting announcements have been made yet as this whole thing seems very early still.
