UPDATED: Kanye West revives his G.O.O.D. Fridays campaign, releases new song
Way back in 2010, ahead of the release of his critically lauded album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye West launched a campaign that he called G.O.O.D. Fridays where, at the end of each working week, he would post a brand-new song online. Now, ahead of his hotly anticipated seventh solo album Swish, it looks like he’s prepared to repeat the act. Late last night West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, posted a message to Twitter announcing the project:
We already got our first taste of the new music Fridays last week with the debut of the Nike diss track “Facts,” so keep your eyes peeled and your browsers open for another new song to drop at some point today.
UPDATE: West did indeed post a new song, “Real Friends,” accompanied by a clip of “No More Parties in LA” featuring Kendrick Lamar, to his Soundcloud page earlier today, but it was quickly taken down. West later tweeted that he wasn’t satisfied with the sound quality on the original track, and posted a new version. You can listen to the official, newly reposted track here. He adds:
I hope you have a nice weekend.
