It hasn’t been the best summer for TV: UnREAL and Mr. Robot experienced shaky second seasons, several series either got the boot or voluntarily called it quits, and charming British competition shows started shedding their charming British talent. But if it looks like there’s a light at the end of this tunnel, it’s not next week’s big premieres or the headlights from a Stranger Things bike—it’s the reflection from dozens of small TV angels holding even smaller globes. Yes, the Emmys are tonight, the surest sign of fall TV’s imminent arrival this side of an A.V. Club TV preview.

ABC’s telecast of the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards begins at 7 p.m. Eastern tonight, and The A.V. Club invites you to watch the ceremony with us, using the hashtag #AVCTV. A.V. Club writers will be responding to and commenting upon the proceedings from their personal accounts, while @AVTVClub will have a full run-down of the event, award-by-award, snub-by-snub. (For the social-media-averse, we’ll keep a running tally of all the winners on this page.) So put on your finest at-home formal wear, pour yourself a glass of something that’ll get you through a four-hour television event, and stay tuned for the night The Americans finally, truly gets what it deserves. (The polite acknowledgment of the TV academy, that is. It’s the Emmys—we’re not getting our hopes up about any of our favorites.)
