Vampire Weekend to finally drop some new music next week
Alright, for real this time, Vampire Weekend is about to release some new music. We know we said over the summer that a new album would be coming in September, but we already realized that was wrong in November. At that point, we learned that the new album would be coming in 2019, and now that it is 2019, frontman Ezra Koenig has finally shared some real information about what his band is planning.
In an instagram post, Koenig announced that the band will release two new songs three times a month until the record is out, with the first of the “drops” coming next week. As for that album, its initials are “FOTB,” though he won’t say what that stands for, and it’ll be 59 minutes long with 18 tracks. Frustratingly, he doesn’t offer a real release date for the album (or for the first set of new songs), but you can do the math and figure out the latest possible date that we’ll have all the songs if he sticks to this plan of doing two new songs three times a month.
