Various Artists: Show & Tell: A Stormy Remembrance Of TV Theme Songs

Here's a high concept: Punk bands cover TV theme songs. From earnest, reverent renditions (The Dickies' "Secret Agent Man") to violent punk-rock deconstructions (The Pink Lincolns' defecation upon the theme from Friends), Show & Tell features plenty of the kitsch and clowning around you'd expect. It also boasts "the mighty return of Todd 'Willis' Bridges," who tunelessly warbles the theme from Diff'rent Strokes with the help of The Whatchu Talking 'Bout Willis Experience. Of course, there's plenty of tossed-off junk strewn throughout these 35 tracks, while songs like The Meatmen's "Mission: Impossible" are so short they're barely there. But you also get a healthy dose of fun—plus a few nifty surf/spy-style instrumental tracks—and that's far more than can be said for most similarly high-concept tribute albums. (Which? Records, P.O.
