Venom takes control in a new trailer 

The internet really liked the last Venom trailer, at least partly because of just how damn fiiiine that slimy bastard is, and this morning Sony finally released a new trailer for the film after teasing it at a Comic-Con panel last Saturday. The first trailer made you wait right up until the end in order to see Tom Hardy fully transform into the eponymous monster; this second trailer, however, gets right into it, with Hardy introducing himself in character as reporter Eddie Brock—who, in his own words, has been “taken” by a symbiote who plays long-tongued bad cop to Hardy’s puny human good cop.

In addition to Hardy, Venom stars Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Riz Ahmed, and Woody Harrelson. It’ll be in theaters on October 5.
