Veronica Mars coming to PaleyFest, Pivot, your general consciousness for the next several months
It’s been a long time coming, but the premiere of the Veronica Mars movie is finally on the immediate horizon. That means the film’s publicity campaign is now in full swing, so expect three solid months of news and gossip and events related to the former CW/UPN series. (It’ll be like Anchorman 2, but maybe not quite as annoying.)
This week alone came two tidbits of Veronica Mars news. First, it was announced that the cast of the cult classic would be appearing at PaleyFest, the Paley Center for Media’s annual celebration of all things TV. The Mars gang will kick off the fest on March 13, a day before the actual Mars movie hits theaters. Other casts slated for Paley hangouts include the ladies of Pretty Little Liars and, once again, all those freaks from FX’s American Horror Story.
In other, less L.A.-centric news, the Pivot network has announced plans to begin airing daily episodes of both Veronica Mars and Buffy The Vampire Slayer back to back, as part of a “Power Hours” block that begins Monday, Jan. 13. Veronica Mars currently airs on SOAPnet, but the network is going off the air at the end of this year.
