After a three-year absence in which stand-up comedians were left to forage in the cable wilderness, feasting on talking-head panel scraps like World's Dumbest Criminals to survive, VH1 is bringing Best Week Ever back beginning in January 2013. The show has been off the air ever since the switch to a Paul F. Tompkins-hosted format failed to catch on with viewers and caused a visible strain on Tompkins. There's no official word yet on whether Best Week Ever will also bring back most of its old panel, but someone should probably go and retrieve Chuck Nice from whatever monastery he's been meditating in.
