Vida gets a makeover in the trailer for season two
Relax—there’s no impending overhaul of Tanya Saracho’s expertly crafted dramedy, which premiered last year on Starz. From the looks of the trailer for season two, which is out on May 23, Vida will continue to explore the lives of queer folx, “whitinas,” immigrants, gente-fiers, millennials, chingonas, and putas with the same astuteness, compassion, and humor that landed the show on our best TV of 2018 list.
Still, a change is coming to Vida, née La Chinita, the bar that’s passed from Vidalia to her daughters Emma (Mishel Prada) and Lyn (Melissa Barrera) and her spouse Eddy (Ser Anzoategui). The Hernandez sisters will have their work cut out for them as they stave off predatory lenders and try to run a successful business while also maintaining the refuge their late mother established. They might have better luck in their personal relationships, as the trailer shows Emma and Lyn getting closer to new (and renewed) loves.
The premiere of Vida season two will be available on the Starz app on May 23 before airing on the Starz network on May 26.
