Vince Vaughn set to star in comedy about a prostitute-loving politician
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vince Vaughn is attached to star in The Politician, a new comedy from producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The film will reportedly focus on a politician and his “underachieving accomplice”—because every political figure needs a sidekick—as they get involved in “a scandal with some hookers” and have to run from drug dealers, U.S. Marshals, and the FBI. For those who are unaware, “some hookers” is actually the grammatically correct term for a group of hookers, a la “gaggle of geese” or “murder of crows.” Surprisingly, The Politician doesn’t appear to be specifically based on any one actual person in politics, but that’s probably because it would be too hard to narrow it down.
Goon and What If’s Michael Dowse will direct, with Matthew Bass and Theodore Bressman writing the script. Now it’s just a matter of casting the “underachieving accomplice,” so Zach Galifianakis should probably clear up his schedule. Or maybe the studio will go in a totally different direction and hire someone else. Is Josh Gad doing anything? Really, though, we assume the only reason the two leads aren’t James Franco and Seth Rogen is because the world can only handle so many of their excuses to get paid hanging out.
