Vinny is the next Jersey Shore star to get a TV show
Despite the welcome news that MTV had decided to cancel Jersey Shore, MTV seems determined to continue milking its "guido" franchise through spin-offs. Joining Snooki and JWOWW and The Pauly D Project, the network just announced that Vinny Guadagnino—the sort-of likeable, seemingly normal one, but only in relation to the other cast members—will be getting his own talk show called The Show With Vinny. The series won't use a conventional talk show format, but instead will have Gaudagnino remind everyone he's Italian by having celebrity guests visit him at his home in Staten Island, then sit down for a home-cooked meal with his family. "Vinny's unique mix of humor, intelligence, curiosity and heart make him the perfect choice for this genre-busting take on the interview format," said Chris Linn, MTV Executive Vice President of Programming, presumably with a straight face.
Along with the rest of the Shore cast, Guadagnino will appear on MTV's Restore The Shore telethon, raising money to repair the Seaside Heights boardwalk after Hurricane Sandy damaged local businesses like the Shore Store, where cast members sold T-shirts while hungover.
