Wand shines psychedelically with “Broken Candle”
Wand doesn’t look at psychedelia as something that belongs in a museum—or necessarily has to sound peaceful. The Los Angeles band’s upcoming full-length, Ganglion Reef, is a teeming, dream-steeped smear of songs that shines with the bent light of a cracked prism. Case in point: “Broken Candle,” which is being debuted here in all its gauzy glory. It also pounds with garage-rock power, even as it lulls the listener to some dark corner of melody and melancholy.
Ganglion Reef will be released August 26 via God? Records.
