Want to listen to Björk's weird solstice song? There's an app for that.
For those still floundering in their holiday shopping, Björk just released an app that may be the perfect gift. The Solstice app was developed in collaboration with writer and fellow Icelander Sjón, whose enigmatic poem about the changing seasons serves as the accompaniment for a "circular harp" formed by rays of light and orbiting planets. If that sounds confusing, just remember that this was Björk's idea. If nothing else, it's a more-than-adequate timewaster, it's free from the iTunes store, and it includes the option to send whatever inevitably discordant ditty you produce to your loved ones via email.
