Want to save Terriers? Here are some suggestions...
Ordinarily on Wednesday I'd be firing up my various social media accounts and encouraging people who hadn't yet checked out the funny, dark FX private-eye series Terriers to jump right in with tonight's episode. But I'll be honest: this week brings the first half of a two-hour wrap-up of the show's first season, so while it's a hell of an episode, it's not the easiest place to hop on. But just because you're not yet a fan of Terriers doesn't mean you can't do your level best to keep one of the best-written, best-acted, most entertainingly gut-wrenching dramas on TV around for a second season. Because when you do get around to catching up with Terriers on DVD or whatever, you don't want to be kicking yourself, saying, "Why didn't I speak up when I had the chance?"
The easiest way to let FX know that a show which draws way less than a million viewers a week has a fervent fanbase (and a huge potential fanbase) is to shoot an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject line "Save Terriers." Or, if you follow this Google link, you'll see that various blogs and TV sites have their own ideas about how to get the word out. (Even the people of Ocean Beach, where Terriers is set, are pleading for another season, if only for the boost to the local economy.) If you're already a fan of the show, chances are you already know about the "Save Terriers" campaign and have done your bit. But why not send another e-mail, just to be on the safe side?
And what the hell, if you've never watched before, I still urge you to watch tonight, at 10 pm eastern on FX. You might be a little confused at first, but just roll with it. It's not really that hard a show to follow. If nothing else, it'll leave you humming the catchy theme song for days afterward.
