Warner Bros. made a billboard out of bacteria to advertise Contagion

Because a movie cannot succeed by virtue of its all-star cast or built-in sneeze fetishist fanbase alone, Steven Soderbergh’s pandemic thriller Contagion has, naturally, indulged in a little viral marketing. [<—-Nice, somewhat mature pun looking for a home. Good with children and the elderly. Still very frisky and enjoys wordplay.] Warner Bros. Canada hired the Toronto-based ad agency Lowe Roche to create a couple of unique billboards that were essentially giant petri dishes, filled them with bacteria and fungi, then allowed nature to take its disgusting course by growing until it spelled out the name of the movie. It’s pretty cool, and also pretty gross. [via AdRants]
