Watch an exclusive clip from The End Of The Tour

James Ponsoldt’s The End Of The Tour is set over the course of five days in 1996, as Rolling Stone writer David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) accompanies the late, great David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel) to the last stop of a reading tour to promote his breakthrough novel, Infinite Jest. Backed by two very good lead performances, it’s a bittersweet, subtly shaded portrait of two men who could be friends and peers if their relationship weren’t couched in the mechanics of journalism and literary fame.

In this exclusive clip, Lipsky—holding his ubiquitous tape recorder even as he chews on a Red Vine—talks junk food and entertainment with Wallace following a convenience store run. The End Of A Tour, which earned a glowing review from our own A.A. Dowd, is currently playing in theaters.
