Watch Eric Stoltz play Marty McFly in this alternate timeline version of Back To The Future
Eric Stoltz’s legendary five weeks of filming before being fired from Back To The Future—which immediately created an alternate timeline where Michael J. Fox became one of the biggest stars of the ‘80s, and also the Berlin Wall fell—has thus far existed solely in anecdotal form, shored up by the occasional promotional photo. Until now: The upcoming Blu-ray release of the trilogy features this never-before-seen bonus footage (excerpted courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter) of Stoltz playing Marty McFly, intercut with interviews of Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, and Steven Spielberg basically saying Eric Stoltz isn’t very funny. It’s a disconcerting glimpse of what might have been, like waking up to find your mom has huge breast implants and is married to your dad’s murderer.
