Watch historical fantasy come true as The Rolling Stones cover The Beatles (briefly)
A new clip from Peter Whitehead's notably unreleased 1965 documentary Charlie Is My Darling has surfaced showing The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Keith Richards noodling around with a few songs by The Beatles. It would be a stretch to call them "covers," exactly—Jagger and Richards mostly just "la la la" and giggle their way through "I've Just Seen A Face" and the beginning of "Eight Days A Week"—but it's an uplifting reminder of the fact that one of the greatest rock bands in history was once just a few bros screwing around on a guitar.
Charlie Is My Darling has been remastered by ABKCO Films and will be released on Nov. 6 to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of The Rolling Stones.
