Watch Lorde’s full six-song performance at the Ed Sullivan Theater for Late Show With David Letterman
Seventeen-year-old New Zealand pop sensation Lorde has come a long way from writing about getting on her first plane. Her debut album Pure Heroine has performed well on the charts following the success of hit single “Royals,” and this week she appeared on Late Show With David Letterman. Before her song to close the show, however, Letterman pushed aside his set and let the Kiwi teenager and her band play a six-song set for the crowd at the Ed Sullivan Theater. She opened with “Bravado” from the Love Club EP, and continued with highlights from Pure Heroine including “Ribs” and late-album gem “White Teeth Teens” while telling the crowd about asking that the house lights stay up and referencing a few events from her life that inspired the songs. She’s certainly got a unique stage presence, but she looks perfectly at ease on national television at such a young age, now with another late-night circuit performance to go along with her American television debut on Jimmy Fallon in early October. Watch the full Late Show set, and the video for “Team” that aired during the show, below.
