Watch Queer Eye with The A.V. Club this weekend

The advent of streaming has been both blessing and curse to TV lovers: So many onscreen stories that would’ve gone untold in a broadcast-and-cable-dominated landscape, accompanied by the feeling that watching television in 2019 is akin to being hooked up to a demonic donut machine devised for Homer Simpson. (“So, you like shows, eh?” “Uh huh.” “Have all the shows in the world!”) Yes streaming giveth a surplus of options and taketh away precious time with family and friends—and it’s also taken away that quintessential television experience of watching the same thing at the same time with those family and friends, regardless of where they might be located.

In that spirit, The A.V. Club’s trying a experiment with the latest season of Netflix’s Queer Eye, eight new episodes of which premiered today: For the next four days, our writers and editors will be taking over the @AVTVClub Twitter feed to live-tweet the “make better” reality show two episodes at a time. If you’re watching, too, you’re invited to join in on the commentary and discussion with the hashtag #QueerEyeAVC. Here’s the schedule, so you’ll know when to log on and sound off.
