Watch the exclusive video premiere of The White Buffalo’s “The Whistler”
Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter is apparently a big fan of singer/songwriter Jake Smith, better known by his moniker The White Buffalo. “The Whistler,” off Smith’s latest album, Shadows, Greys, & Evil Ways, is the eighth White Buffalo song to be featured in an episode of the FX show.
Below, The A.V. Club has the premiere of the song's accompanying music video, recorded live in studio with Smith and his band. According to Smith, "'The Whistler' is about a maladjusted soldier who returns home in hopes of reforming his moral fabric. He isn't quite ready yet." So it’s a growling track by a spectacularly bearded singer about an emotionally tumultuous struggle with morality; clearly it belongs in a show like Sons Of Anarchy.
