Watch the Peanuts gang sing Journey, AC/DC, and Pink Floyd
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Pigpen and the whole Peanuts gang are already accomplished dancers, as evidenced by the YouTube clips featuring them shimmying to songs such as Pharrell’s “Happy” and OutKast’s “Hey Ya!” However, YouTube user Garren Lazar/Super G saw more potential in the gang’s musical abilities—or at least in how vintage Peanuts cartoon footage syncs up surprisingly well with classic rock songs. And so since last year, the proud Final Cut Pro user has painstakingly edited clips from various sources together to make it look like blanket-clutching Linus is Steve Perry as he croons Journey’s “Lights,” or Schroeder is the pianist responsible for the introductions to Styx’s “Come Sail Away” or the Who’s “Baba O’Riley.” To date, Super G has created 34 of these videos—with the most impressive one being a trippy, 24-minute mini-movie set to Pink Floyd’s psychedelic masterpiece “Echoes,” which even features an appearance by It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown-era Snoopy.
Here are some of our favorites:
Heart, “Barracuda”
Pink Floyd, “Echoes”
Journey, “Lights”
The Who, “Baba O’Riley”
Styx, “Come Sail Away”
AC/DC, “Back In Black”
