Fresh off yesterday’s announcement that the band would be changing up its usual ecstatic aesthetic with an album written in the grips of feeling “hopeless” and “disturbed,” The Flaming Lips have just released a lyric video for a new, non-album track. While ostensibly kind of morbid—it is called “Sun Blows Up Today”—it's really a pretty classically Lips-ian celebration of sound and bright colors. If this is anything like what fans can expect from The Terror on Apr. 2, The Lips’ idea of hopelessness may be pretty different from everyone else’s. [via Rolling Stone]
