Watch these screaming children jump rope with eerie perfection

There’s a soothing effect that goes through your brain whenever you see people performing a mundane act astonishingly well. At first blush you might expect a two-minute video of 14 elementary school students screaming in sync while running figure eights through a jump rope to be an exception to this rule, but, amazingly, you’d be wrong. Your reptilian brain digs that shit.

The students in said video are from Harada Elementary School in Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan, and they are successfully setting the world record for most skips over a single rope by a team. Their feat is made all the sweeter by the fact that by getting 225 skips, the students have taken the record from their archrival Hiromi Elementary School, who only managed to skip rope a paltry 217 times. Yes, you would be right to think that Japan takes jumping rope very seriously.
