We Double Dare you to watch Nickelodeon's latest obstacle course revival
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, June 25. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Double Dare (Nickelodeon, 9 p.m.): Prepare the helmets and kneepads: Double Dare is back (again). YouTuber and Kids’ Choice Award winner Liza Koshy hosts the revival, which is the second one Nickelodeon’s launched since the original wrapped in 1993. Marc Summers, who hosted the original Double Dare and its spin-off, Family Double Dare, will provide commentary as contestants—including Jamie Lynn Spears, apparently—engage in some competitive eating and giant nose-picking.
Regular coverage
Wild card
Believer (HBO, 8 p.m.): This documentary finds Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds questioning the homophobic beliefs of the Church Of Latter Day Saints (in which he was raised), and trying to bridge the divide between the Mormon church and the LGBTQ community. That’s awfully ambitious for a documentary, we know, which is why Reynolds also started the LoveLoud foundation.
In Defense Of (Oxygen, 9 p.m.): Oxygen rebranded in 2017, becoming a true-crime repository. Tonight, the network adds In Defense Of to its offerings. The series purports to examine the relationship between defense attorneys and clients by sitting down with the lawyers who defended people like Timothy McVeigh, Clive Doyle, Ted Bundy, and Jodi Arias.
