We’re crazy for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s new season

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Friday, October 20, and Saturday, October 21. All times are Eastern. Don’t get us started on men.

Top pick

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW, Friday, 8 p.m.): Last week, our long wait for CEG season three was finally over, as new dark-brunette Rebecca Bunch returned from the getting-dumped-at-the-altar grave to start plotting her revenge on future priest Josh Chan. Fortunately, that revenge featured one of those inspired music video send-ups we love. This week: Rebecca’s obsession continues, but at least she now tries to draft Nathaniel into her plans. We like him a lot better for Rebecca than Josh (must be our Greek hangover), so we have high hopes for this episode. Be sure to check out Allison Shoemaker’s awesome Crazy Ex-Girlfriend reviews; Allison, we hear you, girl:

Regular coverage

Marvel’s Inhumans (ABC, Friday, 9 p.m.)
Jane The Virgin (The CW, Friday, 9 p.m.)
Z Nation (Syfy, Friday, 9 p.m.)
DuckTales (Disney XD, Saturday, 8 a.m.)
Saturday Night Live (NBC, Saturday, 11:30 p.m.)

Wild card

Gilmore Girls (TV Club Classic): Speaking of CW heroines we love: Hey, did you know that Gwen Ihnat is spending her weekends going back through Gilmore Girls seasons four through seven to complete our TV Club Classic coverage of the series? We know, what a life, right? In case you haven’t been keeping up, we’re right at the part in season five when the crummy Life And Death Brigade enters the picture. Logan shuffles in, but that at least means that Dean is on his way out. Meanwhile, Lorelai and Luke are happy for the moment, so we might as well enjoy that. And then dish about it in the comments. So if you get to the point where you want to take a break in your madcap weekend, why not stop on by? The posts (with two episodes per week) go up on Saturday afternoon.
