Ween's Aaron Freeman debuts his new solo song with help from Jack Black

For nearly 30 years, he was known as Gene Ween, one half of oddball psychedelic duo Ween. But having disbanded that group (and gotten sober), Aaron Freeman is making a new start with a new band, Freeman. That band’s first utterance is the first new song Freeman has released under any name in seven years. “(For A While) I Couldn’t Play My Guitar Like A Man,” sounds not unlike some of Ween’s mellower stuff, and is currently streaming from the band’s web site. Freeman already has one enthusiastic fan in Tenacious D’s Jack Black, who debuted the track by gushing about it on Facebook. Freeman’s self-titled album is due out July 22.
