Wells, Wells, Wells, looks like Harlots is getting another season

Hear ye, hear ye: Greek Street and Hulu, two noted destinations for those in search of simmering female rage, will remain so. The latter has just extended the lease for the former in the guise of a welcome third season order for Harlots, and thus the Wells-Quigley feud, the excellent costumes, and the near-constant use of first and last names will continue unabated.

As with the first two seasons, the next will contain eight episodes. What’s not known is how many of those episodes will contain Margaret Wells. Certain turnings of the plot in the second season finale seemed likely to send the bawd away from Greek Street and the Golden Square, and Samantha Morton will also be playing a villain in the ninth season of The Walking Dead. Morton’s performance is one of Harlots’ best, and it’s difficult to imagine the series without her (and Variety notes that she’s expected to return.) With or without her (and hopefully it’s with her), more Harlots is definitely good news.
