Wesley Snipes really does have to go to prison now
A federal judge has ordered Wesley Snipes to surrender himself to authorities today and begin serving his three-year prison term for tax evasion. Snipes has been out on bail ever since receiving the sentence in 2008, filing various appeals (another one is now in the offing) and generally behaving as though the whole thing would go away as long as he kept busy making plans to star in new Blade movies and saying, “It’s all good.” As previously reported, Snipes had even begun preparing to film the martial-arts comedy Master Daddy, clearly hoping that he would get time off for providing the healing power of kung-fu laughter, to no avail. The good news, according to his defense attorney, is that Snipes remains “calm and positive,” two attributes that have certainly served his self-delusion well thus far.
