“What Do You Smell Like?” is an unholy mashup of Justin Bieber and Nirvana

A well-constructed mashup can be a beautiful thing. A well-constructed mashup of entirely incongruous songs, on the other hand, can be torture. That’s what happens with DJ Cummerbund’s new track, “What Do You Smell Like? Ft. Justin Bieber, Kurt Cobain, And More.” An unholy blend of Kurt Cobain, Katy Perry, The Police, and Justin Bieber’s dick, the track is technically sound, but, at about 2:05 into the track, when the techno beats suddenly become the backing music for “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” things take a turn for the off-putting. Why, DJ Cummerbund? Just… why?
