What the shit?! Archer: Danger Island is already ending

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Wednesday, June 13. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Archer: Danger Island (FXX, 10 p.m.): Just when it was starting to get good, Archer: Danger Island is signing off, the shortened eight-episode season killing its last Nazi and embarking on its final quest for an idol that may or may not cause a volcano to erupt, regardless of whether it’s even worth a damn thing when it comes to the idol/currency exchange rate on the open market. William Hughes will be here to see if anyone dares fuck with Malory Archer’s booze once more.

Regular coverage

The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu)
The Expanse (Syfy, 9 p.m.)

Wild card

Wahlburgers (A&E, 10 p.m.): It’s the ninth season premiere! Be sure to tune in to see them make some burgers! Just kidding. For the love of god, don’t watch Wahlburgers. Here are some other things you can watch at 10 p.m. if you’re not an Archer fan: Brockmire on IFC; Colony on USA; Queen Sugar on OWN; The Split on Sundance; and the show I’m still having a hard time believing was ordered to series by NBC, Reverie. That’s the one where Sarah Shahi is a former hostage negotiator turned college professor who gets recruited by the government to save people who have lost themselves in a highly advanced virtual reality universe. I’m not kidding. That’s the hook. They’re on the third episode, and it’s probably safe to say they’ve whiffed on the chance to make a Leeroy Jenkins joke.
