Godzilla is an iconic movie monster that has spawned many imitators, but few duplicators. This weekend, he makes his return to the big screen with Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla: King of the Monsters—the sequel to Gareth Edward’s 2014 film that sees the titan go up against some of his biggest enemies, including Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. In honor of the film, Toho, the original creators of Godzilla, took us on a tour of their studio in Japan where they showed us the classic latex monster suits, and explained just how much manpower went into operating them.
