What's Making Me Sad Today: Tour Announcement Division
From a newly arrived press release:
THE NEW CARS CRUISE INTO THE FAST LANE WITH ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAMERS, BLONDIE "ROAD RAGE TOUR 2006" PRESENTED BY VH1 CLASSIC
Yes, at long last, you can see most of Blondie and two members of The Cars tour together. So which half of the tour is sadder? Well, Blondie's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame last night didn't go to well, according to this Associated Press story. Seems that some members were excluded from the band's reunion a few years back, leading to some awkward moments on the podium and even more awkward moments when "Blondie" played without key members of Blondie.
But it's the New Cars tour that really breaks my heart. No you won't see lead singer Ric Ocasek (not interested) or bassist Benjamin Orr (dead). But you will see guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboardist Greg Hawkes and new lead singer Todd Rundgren. Yes, that Todd Rundgren. And kicking it all off on May 9th is The New Cars' album It's Alive, featuring some of The Cars' greatest hits played live and some new songs.
All of which raises a question: Don't you guys have anything better to do? No, really think about it before answering.
