Welcome to the weekend edition of What’s On. Here are the big things happening on TV from Friday, Oct 20 to Sunday, October 22. All times are Eastern. [Note: The weekly What’s On will publish on Sundays.]

1. Big Mouth graduates from middle school

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: The Big Mouth kids are finally growing up. Co-created by series star Nick Kroll, the animated comedy returns for its seventh season with the Bridgeton Middle School teens ready to graduate. The new episodes follow their final few months of class—and, of course, their hormone monsters are tagging along for the ride. The voice cast includes John Mulaney, Jason Mantzoukas, Jessi Klein, Maya Rudolph, Jordan Peele, Andrew Rannells, Paula Pell, Richard Kind, Kristen Wiig, and Megan Thee Stallion, among others.

2. Bad Bunny takes over Saturday Night Live

NBC, 11:30 p.m.: After last week’s Pete Davidson-led premiere, Saturday Night Live forges on with Bad Bunny pulling double duty as host and musical guest. Look out for The A.V. Club’s recap of the evening on Sunday.

3. The Pigeon Tunnel sheds light on a major spy novelist

Apple TV+, Friday, 12:01 a.m.: Directed by celebrated documentarian Errol Morris, The Pigeon Tunnel unpacks the life of former spy David Cornwell, who is more commonly known by the pen name John le Carré, the author of books like The Constant Gardner and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. The doc surveys his entire career and features both dramatized performances and real-life footage.

4. Greg Daniels’ Upload returns for season 3

Prime Video, Friday, 12:01 a.m.: The sci-fi rom-com Upload, created by Parks & Recreation showrunner Greg Daniels, returns for its eight-episode third season. While it’s lackluster compared to previous outings, the show is still worth watching just for the central love story between Nathan (Robbie Amell) and Nora (Andy Allo). Check out The A.V. Club’s review and our interview with Daniels.

5. It’s a K-drama time with Doona!

Doona! | Official Trailer | Netflix

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: There’s nothing quite like an entertaining South Korean drama, as Netflix appears to be well aware. The platform adds to its roster with Doona!, a rom-com following retired K-pop idol Doo-na (Bae Suzy), who moves into a college town and embarks on a complicated relationship with a student, Won-jun (Yang Se-jong).

6. Elité continues to spin its sexy, teen-drama wheels

Elite: Season 7 | Official Trailer | Netflix

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: Spanish language YA drama Elité kicked off in 2018—and is already on its seventh season, if you can believe it. The sexy, over-the-top series follows the mostly wealthy students of Las Encinas as they engage in class wars, illicit affairs, and, oh yeah, murder. Elité has already been renewed for an eighth and final season, which is scheduled to arrive in 2024.
