Where's Daredevil?: A brief investigation

Netflix is still keeping the season-three premiere date for Marvel’s Daredevil under wraps, but social media and the release of Iron Fist season two have yielded some clues on the whereabouts of the Devil Of Hell’s Kitchen (Charlie Cox).

First, there’s this cheeky little video posted by Marvel Entertainment, which features a missing-persons flyer with Matt Murdock’s face.

Now, if you watched Marvel’s Defenders until the very end, then you already know that Matt is alive and in the care of nuns, specifically one named Maggie. But when he thought he was facing certain death, he urged Danny Rand (Finn Jones) to take over as guardian of New York City, a responsibility the Iron Fist takes seriously (but still messes up anyway) in the new season. Danny gets considerable help from Colleen (Jessica Henwick) and Misty (Simone Missick), but a post-credits scene also teases the return of Daredevil.

“I’d rather die as the Devil than live as Matt Murdock,” he says as we fade to black (which doesn’t take long, given how dark the scene is). Combined, these two clips are really pushing the notion that Matt’s ideals will be sidelined by a much more cynical Daredevil, who notes in the video above that only darkness can combat darkness. We’ll see how things play out in season three, which is rumored to premiere later this year.
