While still playing coy on the specifics, Marvel says it has plans for the MCU through 2025

Avengers: Infinity War smashed opening-weekend records in its wide release, and broke countless hearts when it [REDACTED]. Fans hoping that Marvel might offer some resolution or comfort at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con will have to remember that the studio isn’t planning to tease any of what remains in phase three, which will wrap with the final, and still-untitled, Avengers movie—or even anything that comes after it. Marvel boss Kevin Feige said earlier this month that his studio wants to pay due attention and respect to the nearly two dozen movies that have passed or are on the horizon.

But even though Marvel isn’t willing (for now) to give up any new info about Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel movie, or the Black Widow standalone outing that’s gaining traction again on the heels of Infinity War, studio execs and the creative teams behind the franchises within a franchise have already met to hash out the post-War landscape. In an interview with the Associated Press, Feige says Marvel is “always thinking ahead. Just when people think they can pin us down, we go somewhere else and that’s going to happen again after Infinity War in the build-up to the next Avengers film. And we had meetings earlier today about 2024 and 2025.”

Feige didn’t elaborate on the substance of those meetings, which almost certainly had to do with phase four, the next stage in the MCU, of which we still know very little beyond that it includes sequels to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. But he did remind the AP that there’s “an amazing wealth of creative material to pull from,” noting that “lot of our characters in their comic incarnations that we haven’t even done yet for characters who have had three or four movies,” which could mean we haven’t seen the last of [REDACTED], or that we did see the last of [REDACTED].
