The White Stripes posted a note on their website today saying they've canceled the U.S. leg of their current tour. The reason, in the band's own words: "Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time. The White Stripes sincerely apologize to their fans. We hate to let people down and are very sorry." Let it be said upfront that anyone who takes shitty potshots at Meg White is a soulless jerk.
