The search for True Detective’s Yellow King threatens to inspire Rust Cohle-like obsessiveness in even the most casual of the HBO series’ fans. Theories about the ritualistic killer abound, but if the video below is any indication, a group of Onion-associated comics may have finally cracked the case. It’s the “detective’s curse,” as Marty Hart (whom we can now definitively say is not The Yellow King) might say. The solution has always been under your nose, but for some reason you weren’t paying attention to it because it was painted yellow, holding a scepter, and wearing a king’s hat.
