Whoopi Goldberg gets Oscar apology for being unmemorable
Whoopi Goldberg apparently had to hold back tears (!) earlier this week on The View after she was left out of a montage of memorable Oscar show host moments during the telecast Sunday night. Goldberg hosted the Oscars in 1994, 1996, 1999, and 2002, and if you remember any of those shows, you know they did her a favor. At any rate, Whoopi was despondent over the "snub," choking back tears and putting on a brave face in the face of such brutal hardship for her ego: ""Undoubtedly I (bleeped) somebody off yet again. You know what, I don't — I don't know." (Sorry for the bleep, we're quoting a daily newspaper.) Oscar producer Gil Cates—who probably was choking back laughter—called the "snub" an "absolute oversight" and said he feels "very, very badly that she was left out." You should be, Gil. This is the woman who made Jumpin' Jack Flash AND Burglar. Show some respect.
