Wicker Man director and Chris Rock to update 2007's Death At A Funeral for contemporary audiences
Ah, Fall 2007. It was a simpler time. The Dow Jones roared above 12,000 points, a great leader named George W. Bush united a nation by being the Decider, the music of Fall Out Boy enthralled and enraged the young people and a humble little dark Frank Oz-directed comedy called Death At A Funeral was released to mixed-to-positive reviews and healthy box-office in a limited release.
Well, get ready to hop back into the Wayback machine and experience the thrills of late 2007 all over again because Wicker Man director Neil Labute and funster Chris Rock have decided to update Death At A Funeral for contemporary audiences with the help of a predominantly African-American cast that includes Martin Lawrence, Tracy Morgan and Danny Glover, according to this article in Variety. Ah, but who is the Peter Dinklage of 2010? And will audiences be able to relate to such dated material?
Needless to say, this is good news for my planned remake of Watchmen and remake of the remake of Last House On The Left.
