Wild Things director planning a sequel inspired by the Amanda Knox trial, obviously

Much as 1998’s Wild Things proved a timely, metaphorical examination of the Iraq disarmament crisis by having two sexy ladies make out in a pool, director John McNaughton has plans for a sequel that could similarly provide insight into current events—specifically, the Amanda Knox murder trial, easily the hottest and naughtiest of all horrible murder trials.

Speaking to Hollywood.com, McNaughton said he and screenwriter Stephen Peters are currently developing the follow-up Wild Child Things, making clear that their Amanda Knox-inspired Wild Things movie is not a sequel, as that would be utterly tasteless—a tacky exploitation of the integrity of the Wild Things franchise that’s been established across the straight-to-video sequels Wild Things 2, Wild Things: Diamonds In The Rough, and Wild Things: Foursome. Instead, McNaughton says, it would focus on a new generation of awful people having sex, “something that's like the child of Suzie Toller [Neve Campbell's character], she claimed that Matt Dillon's [character] had raped her a long time ago and maybe there is a child and maybe Bill Murray's character had a child and they're exchange students and things get out of hand.”

Indeed, maybe things get way, way out of hand, as maybe these exchange students find themselves abroad in Italy, doing various wild things all across the piazzas. For example, maybe they visit Rome’s San Pietro in Vincoli to see Michelangelo’s Moses, so that Neve Campbell’s kid can rub her breasts on it. Maybe they have a threesome with a Renaissance-era fresco, and Bill Murray’s son sensuously pours champagne alllll over it. And then maybe they conspire to kill a poor, innocent British girl for kicks, and maybe Campbell’s daughter finds herself ruthlessly pursued by the Italian court. Maybe she and the Italian court fuck in a fountain. There are definitely many directions one could take with a Wild Things sequel that uses a real-life murder as the basis for finding new ways for random combinations of people to have sex with each other, instead of not doing that.
